Lourenco Franca has been the Head Coach of Acro Clube da Maia since 2004 and has been the Portugal Acrobatics National Coach for European and World Championships from 1999 to 2023, a staggering 24 events. In addition, he has been the National Coach for 4 World Games (2001, 2009, 2013 and 2022) and the 2015 and 2019 European Games.

Since last time in Australia in 2019 the work of a lifetime was rewarded with the first Portuguese medals in World Championships (in 2021 and 2022) for 6 of his gymnasts, specially with 4 World Champion titles and the first Team medal for Portugal.

Showing a passion for coach education Lourenco is a FIG Expert for Education in Gymnastics and member of the Educational Board of the Portuguese Gymnastics Federation as well as being a Physical Education teacher (Master in Biomechanics in Gymnastics). Lourenco has also been a Judge in Acrobatics Gymnastics since 1995.
